Programs & Activities
We welcome Christian groups and church teams, to Belize to use our facilities for their outreaches, work projects, retreats, conferences, seminars, and youth camps. We will help coordinate programs to meet the needs of your group. However, everything is contingent on availability, accessibility and the elements of Mother Nature. Therefore, we stress that you and your team come with a heart of understanding and flexibility, with expectations of serving as Christ who came to serve and not be served.
Your costs are $60 per person per day, plus airfare, details will be provided in a packet
of information (you can go to applications and forms and print out forms for each team member).
This price includes your meals, housing, transportation to and
from airport. Cost for excursions, meals and transportation to and from excursions not
included on excursion days (some excursions are subject to weather conditions). Teams coming for
8 to 10 days can budget from $1,200 to $1,400 per person, a bargain for a Third World Short-Term
Outreach Opportunity! Tips for airport or hotel baggage porters are your responsibility!
After arrival at our Mission base in Belize, groups will be given an orientation of the facilities and accommodations, programs, excursions and work assignments.
Breakfast will be served at 7:00AM followed by devotion and worship at 7:45AM each morning (this is optional, do either in the morning or the evening). If ministry is in the village, we will plan to depart from the mission base by 8:30AM. Lunch will be at noon either at the Mission or at the work site (depending on schedule at worksite). Dinner will be served at 6:00 PM.
Work duty and the daily tasks of keeping the Mission facilities operating, will be assigned each day, which may include painting, simple carpentry, working in the kitchen, general cleaning and organizing, etc.
Other tasks are to keep paths cleared for nature trails in the Rain Forest and jungle. Selective clearing and grounds keeping and landscape maintenance, will also be needed.
Outreaches will be available to everyone as opportunity provides. Teams will be organized, to
evangelize and work in different areas, such as; churches and villages, to minister wherever
God is working. As God provides, we will be distributing food, clothing, shoes and medical supplies.
You can get in and minister to the people or just observe. We will play with the
kids and show love to the children in the village of Gales Point.
You can be looking in the future for our ministry to expand to work with inner-city slums, churches and children with in Belize City. The Belize Mission Retreat is looking for a house in Belize City to host incoming teams.
In the future, a study program for students will be established to explore the Biblical
principles and our role and responsibilities as Christians and as stewards of God creation.
We will explore the wondrously diverse ecosystems of the local Rain Forest, streams, lagoons
and coral reef. One of the many activities in our area is Manatee watching in the Southern
lagoon. This is the largest breeding ground for these docile, harmless aquatic giants. Also
on our very own beachfront, contains the prime nesting habitats for the Hawksbill and
Loggerhead turtles, known to make annual pilgrimages to the same nesting grounds.
Mission builder programs are available for those who wish to volunteer their time and skills,
to help with construction and work projects, to renovate the church, Pastor's home, Directors
home and staff cabanas. Anyone who can swing a hammer and wants to make a difference are
encouraged to come.
After a hard days work, our grounds and beach will be a great place to relax, since the setting is naturally beautiful, on the Caribbean coast (however, one must be aware that in the early morning and at dusk, when there is no breeze or after rain storms, there are mosquitoes and sand flies, so bring insect repellant). When the tropical breeze blows, it is paradise!
Each evening after dinner, we conduct what we call a debriefing. The group then shares what
God has done, as they made themselves available to Him, during the day.
Fun activities can be arranged,
to experience God's awesome creation in Belize. You have an opportunity to visit the unique
Belize zoo, where you can acquaint yourself with these wonderful animals God created, as they
roam freely in their natural habitat.
As an option we will
arrange a trip to one of the Mayan ruins, some of which date back to before Christ. Or Cave
Tubing, through an underground river, truly an awesome experience.
Or you can choose a day trip to
one of the thousands of islands, cayes, or atolls, that dot the coast of Belize, along the
second largest barrier reef in the world, where you can experience remarkable beauty and some
of the best snorkeling in the world.
